“Brennete Liab” – South Tyrolean for red geraniums – on the wooden balcony, a magnificent view over the entire Etsch valley and the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites: the Bärenbadalm (Malga Bagna dell’Orso) at 1,700 m serves up the country’s culinary tradition in the rustic, cosy atmosphere of typical South Tyrolean alpine huts. Since 2010, Alexa and Stefan have been managing the idyllic alpine restaurant with a large sun terrace – the native of the Puster Valley and trained chef manages (schupft) the kitchen and vegetable garden and conjures up delicious authentic dishes made from local ingredients. Stefan takes care of the guests and has long since become a local celebrity with his remarkable selection of schnapps.
